![]() ![]() Googling around, I happened to read about a program called DDRescue and later found it included in SystemRescueCD, both which are completely free to use. So, I didn't give up that easily as I have more time than willingness to invest money. To give hope and pass on the lessons I've learned, I am posting this follow-up in case it will be helpful to anyone else in the future. Had it been so, there would be no need to follow-up post. Once disk dies, it's gone unless you invest on commercial data recovery services. I posted here ( link to my original post) in order to see if there was anything to be done and feedback that I received, even though it was comforting and constructive, indicated the same. I had no backups, no RAID, no recovery plans. It turned out that out of my two data drives the older one had failed.
